WHAT DO THE DIFFERENT ABSORBENCY LEVELS MEAN?
Our PeriodWear comes in 2 different levels of absorbency:
Light-Moderate: holds 10ml of fluid, which is equal to 2 tsp or 2 regular tampons worth. So you can wear them on their own on lighter flow days, or as peace-of-mind back up protection on heavier days.
Moderate-Heavy: holds up to 15ml of fluid, which is equal to 3 tsp or 3 regular tampons worth. So you can wear them on their own, day or night, or as extra defence on heavy days.
HOW DOES LEAKPROOF PERIOD UNDERWEAR WORK?
Scarlet PeriodWear is designed to fit like normal underwear, and feature a multi-layered leak-proof technology that wicks away moisture, absorbs and contains fluid to keep you dry and protected. The built in leak-proof technology is harder working than disposable pads which means it can safely hold more liquid, and last for years not hours.
DO I NEED TO WEAR A PERIOD CUP, TAMPON OR LINER WITH LEAKPROOF PERIOD UNDIES?
Depending on the level of absorbency of leak-proof period underwear you choose and the heaviness of your flow, you can wear our period panties on their own or as backup protection along with a menstrual cup or tampon. Take the time to explore a routine that works for you.
HOW DO I WASH THEM?
After use, rinse them in cold water (we recommend in the shower) until they run clear. Then, machine wash in cold water with mild detergent (no bleach!). Hang out to dry (the sunnier the better) or tumble dry on low - that’s it! If it’s your first wear, pop them in the washing machine with your next cold cycle - washing them before wearing activates their absorbency even more.
CAN I RETURN MY LEAKPROOF PERIOD UNDERWEAR?
This is a new way to period, and we understand finding your way can take a few cycles to get into the swing of things. So, we’ve made a 90 day guarantee to support you to find the perfect period routine. This means, if you try our PeriodWear over 3 cycles (90 Days) and it’s still not right for you, you can return your items for a store credit of the same value, or your money back.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE DURING THE DAY?
We recommend travelling with a water-resistant travel bag such as the Period Proof Travel Bag, along with a spare pair, so you can always pop them away and rinse when you're home if you need to.
