How do they work?

Like normal period underwear, Scarlet Period Swimwear comprises different layers of absorbent material that wick away moisture from the body. The added waterproof inner layer stops any menstrual fluid from leaking out and water from getting in.

How do you clean them?

Just pop it in the washing machine, line dry and they’re ready to go again. If you plan on wearing them the next day, you can also give them a good rinse immediately after taking it off, ensuring to ring out the gusset (inner crotch) thoroughly. Then pop in the sun to dry.

What is their absorbency?

Made for lighter flow days (they hold up to 2 tampons’ worth of blood), if you are at the start of your period and wanting more security, we suggest adding a period cup to the mix too. The Scarlet Period Cup is a bell-shaped, flexible cup made from medical-grade silicone. It is designed to be inserted into the vagina to collect menstrual fluid rather than absorb it. It can also be left for up to 8 hours after your toes have wrinkled over!
