FAQs + MANUAL

Here, you can find everything you need to know about your heat pad - quick answers, tips, and the full manual for easy reference.

What is the rae?

rae is our signature heat pad that goes wherever you go. The soft-feel silicone pad heats to a comfy 50 degrees – with three settings – and sits silently and discreetly. Think of it as a 100% reusable and recyclable alternative to bulky wheat bags, hot water bottles, and stick-on patches.

How do I use it?

We like to keep things simple, so you only need to press a single button to control the on/off function and change the heat settings. Press the for 3 seconds to turn on until the first light turns on. Now adjust the heat by pressing the and toggling through the three levels.

rae also has a built-in haptic feedback system that lightly vibrates when you change levels to help guide you. Press the for 3 seconds to turn off rae. When the turn off, it’s correctly switched off.

Won’t it just fall out of my pants?

Nope, because we’ve come up with a genius solution. Meet our Period Pocket Underwear: a customised version of our best-selling period underwear with a little pouch for the device, perfect for when you’re on the move.

Attached to your regular undies? No problem! Wear rae between your underwear and clothing. If using it directly on the skin, stick to a lower heat setting.

Is it heavy?

It only weighs 270 grams, so it’s lightweight and unobtrusive enough for you to carry on with your life without thinking about it - because we know you’ve got better things on your mind.

What is it made from? Will it irritate my skin?

Heck no. It’s made from food-grade silicone, has no scent, and has three heat settings so you can customise it to be at a comfortable temperature.

It’s recommended to use Period Pocket Underwear or over your underwear. If using it directly on the skin, stick to a lower heat setting.

How do I charge it?

The rae recharges with a USB-C cable so you can use it wirelessly once charged. rae can be charged with any available USB-C port – your laptop, a wall adaptor, or a powerbank.

NOTE: for safety reasons, rae can’t be used while charging.

How long will rae’s charge last?

It depends on how you use it and the intensity of your selected settings. But generally, if you stay on the one level, you can expect:
🔥 low = one press = 5+ hours
🔥 medium = two presses = up to 3 hours
🔥 high = three presses = up to 2 hours

What do the indicator lights mean?

One light flashing red means your device's battery is flat, and you must charge it. DW: you’ll also get a warning prior from the rae’s built-in haptics that lightly vibrates to warn you of a low battery. You can monitor charging through the yellow lights. The lights blink while charging, moving to solid to indicate progress. Once three solid green lights appear, the device is fully charged.

Can I only use Level 3?

We recommend using Level 3 for 20 minutes, up to three times daily. Alternatively, toggle through the settings. For example, do 10 minutes of Level 3, move down to Level 1 for 40 minutes, back up to Level 2 for 30 minutes, and so on. This will help ensure you avoid burns or overheating (as well as extend battery life). The lower the temperature, the longer the battery will last.

Can I sleep with rae on?

No, we don't recommend sleeping with any heating pad on your body. This is to avoid accidental burns or overheating. It's always best to be safe and turn it off before you drift off. You should also never use or have rae turned on underneath sheets, blankets, or anything else – it is dangerous to have it covered. Only ever have rae underneath your underwear or clothes.

Can I travel with rae?

Definitely! It’s precisely made for travel and life on the go. Just remember it contains a lithium battery, so should be treated like the battery inside your phone or laptop.

Are your products safe?

Our products undergo extensive testing to ensure they’re safe for you. (Don’t want to get too geek-y on you, but we are pretty proud of the lengths we’ve gone to ensure both efficacy and safety). rae complies with all electrical safety tests and standards mandated by Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the UK.
