Scarlet Underwear is machine washable and reusable, they’re an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to disposable pads and tampons.
After use, rinse in cold water until it runs clear. Machine wash cold with mild detergent, do not use bleach or fabric softener. Line dry or tumble dry on low.
The Scarlet Period Cup comes in two sizes - regular and large - to accommodate different body types and menstrual flows. It can be (comfortably) worn during physical activities, such as swimming and exercising, but should not be worn during sex.
Size 1 (regular) holds up to 5 teaspoons of blood, or the equivalent of 2.5 regular tampons or 2 regular pads.
Size 2 (large) holds up to 6.5 teaspoons of blood, or the equivalent of 4 regular tampons or 3 regular pads.
Sterilise before first use by boiling in water for 3-5mins. Clean thoroughly before subsequent uses. Store in a dry and well-ventilated area between cycles.
G-STRING: 95% Organic Cotton, 5% Spandex, and a Polyester/PUL Quick Dry Gusset. Free from added chemical treatments, including PFAS (independently lab tested).
PERIOD CUP: 100% medical grade silicone.

Heavy: Holds up to 7 teaspoons, which is around 4 regular tampons or 3 pads. It’s our heavy hitter, making them great for full flow days and overnight. Try: Boyshort or Period Cup

We get it — sizing for bottoms is anything but standardised. Which is why this size guide will help break it down for you. For extra ass-urance, make sure to whip out your trusty measuring tape. (Most likely stashed at the bottom of your junk drawer.) Don't forget to check both our numeric or letter sizing so no confusion (ie. Our large is a 12). And when in doubt, feedback tells us better to size up.

We get asked this a lot. Simply take out your Scarlet Period Cup and empty it into the toilet. When out and about, we suggest keeping a bottle of water and a few sachets of our Cup Wipes handy so it’s super easy to wipe your cup clean. We also have our Cup & Hand Wash, a pH balanced, low-foaming wash designed specifically to clean your Scarlet Period Cup.
Make sure to check that the holes at the side of the cup are clear before reinserting the cup. No mess, no fuss.
