HOW DO THEY WORK?

Scarlet Period Underwear is designed to fit like normal underwear and features multi-layered leak-proof technology that wicks away moisture, absorbs fluid, and contains it to keep you dry and protected. Loved by all, you can read some reviews.

WHAT DOES THE ABSORBENCY LEVELS MEAN?

Super Light: Holds up to 1 teaspoon, which is just a bit less than 1 regular tampon. Think of it as a new-age panty liner, so it’s great for spotting as well as light leaks and discharge. Try: Invisible Thong

Light: Holds up to 3 teaspoons, which is equal to 2 regular tampons or 1 pad. This is for light days to save you from pesky drips, discharge, and lighter flows. Try: G-String, Bikini Brief in Light or Swim range

Moderate: Holds up to 5 teaspoons, which is equal to 3 regular tampons or 2 pads. Go for this on your moderate dates, or as extra defence on heavy days with our Period Cup. Try: High-Waisted Brief or Bikini Brief in Moderate

Heavy: Holds up to 7 teaspoons, which is around 4 regular tampons or 3 pads. It’s our heavy hitter, making them great for full flow days and overnight. Try: Boyshort or Period Cup

DO I NEED TO WEAR A CUP, TAMPON OR LINER TOO?

Depending on the absorbency level you choose and the heaviness of your flow, you can wear our period panties on their own or as backup protection along with a Period Cup. Take the time to explore a routine that works for you.

On heavy days, we recommend travelling with a water-resistant travel bag such as the Toiletry Bag and a spare pair, so you can change them if needed, pop them straight away and rinse (if you CBF) when you get home.

DO I HAVE TO WASH THEM ASAP AFTER USE?

Nope – who’s that organised? That’s why our laundry bag is ace – simply throw your used pair into the bag and store it when you have a full load. Some people like to give them a quick rinse in the shower before popping into the bag, and others don’t. It won’t affect the lifespan of your underwear.

Once you are ready, simply toss them in on a cold wash cycle with mild detergent (no bleach!). DW, your other clothes will be just fine! You have two options for drying: tumble dry on low or hang them out to dry in the sun.

TIP: if it’s your first wear, pop them in the washing machine with your next cold cycle - washing them before wearing activates their absorbency even more. Click to read more about how Period Underwear works.

HOW DO I PICK THE RIGHT SIZE FOR ME?

This size guide will help break it down for you. Please make sure to check both our numeric and letter sizes so there is no confusion (e.g., our large is a 12). When in doubt, we advise you to size up.
